Claudio Illanes Ríos
Mr. Illanes earned his degree from the University of Chile. He has been a deputy justice of the Santiago Court of Appeals and of the Supreme Court and is currently an arbitrator for the Arbitration Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce, a justice on the Constitutional Court and on the Superior Court of the Advertising Ethics and Self-Regulation Council. He is legal counsel to several corporations, a legal analyst and his services as an arbiter are sought constantly. In the past, he was legal counsel to the National Defense Council and to the Bar Association.
He is an undergraduate and graduate professor of civil law at the University of Chile Law School and a visiting professor at University of the Andes, Adolfo Ibañez University and Diego Portales University. He was Vice-Dean of the University of Chile Law School and Vice-Chancellor of that university. He has held several seminars on matters in which he is expert, both in Chile and abroad.
He is a member of the Fueyo Foundation and of the Chilean Chapter of the Colin and Capitant Corporation, with headquarters in Paris. He is a member of the Conciliation Commissions under the Public Works Concessions Law and of the Chilean Bar Association.
